I had two daughters enrolled in the WMAC. My younger one received her first degree black belt and certificate. But I have made multiple attempts to convey and talk to the center instructors for proving the certificate for my older daughter 3rd degree black belt. She dedicated 9 years of her life to the instructor’s program and it has been 3 years but she has not received her degree certification yet. I have made multiple calls and emails but have not received anything.

We want to give a BIG thanks to Master Kim and all of the instructors at World Martial Arts in Yorba Linda. Our grandson achieved his blackbelt one year ago and is currently working toward his second degree. We have attended many classes over the lasts 5 years and watched the whole process as it evolved. There is tremendous attention to detail combined with praise for “doing it right” and gentle , good natured admonishment for “doing it wrong”. Overall it is obvious that all the instructors and Master Kim in particular truly love these kids and enjoy working with them. The children are learning not only a physical skill but a mental discipline . Master Kim calls it “ focus “ , but it is really much more. They are learning SELF REPECT and the joy of achieving a goal and Master Kim makes sure there are always goals to achieve. They are learning about RESPECT for their skills , for their classmates and for those who are teaching them these skills. This respect for others will serve them well as they move forward through life. Best of all , they are having fun doing it. Overall we are completely satisfied with World Mart Arts and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for an extracurricular activity for their child. 5 stars

I enrolled my son in their school about a year ago and the experience we had was terrific. Then came the covid19 and they went from live classes to zoom virtual classes and that was absolutely no good, and they didn't make it easy to get into their online class because they were constantly changing the zoom meeting sign ins etc. Next it went to some live classes and some virtual classes, and they changed all of the times for my son to a time where my wife and I are off work to get our son to class and they require 3 classes a week. I let them know of the schedule conflict and they blew me off and said sorry the schedule can't be changed. Then I ask for help in resolving the issue and they send me class schedules for the other two locations which were exactly the same which shows complete incompetence and the inability to fully understand the issue at hand. After their complete lack of showing they understand the situation I email them and politely said I am pulling my son out of the school due to the schedule changes and the requirements of the school.

They lack the ability to be professional and in a reasonable and timely manner respond to my concerns and issues and provide answers that will resolve the issue, instead I get answers that only repeated what was said to me 6 days before. Its extremely sad and disappointing because not only am I hurt, but my son is devastated because he can't do martial arts with his friends in the class he was in. Lastly in all of this conversation there was no mention of lowering the amount of money I had to pay each month for my son to attend one class a week. No mention of the fact that it sets my son up for failure because of their unwillingness to fix the schedule issue. It also that they really didn't care, but more concerned about getting the same of money for doing less classes. In addition, there was a huge language barrier that made it even more frustrating and down right a living hell to deal with.

Beware and seriously consider another studio for your kids.

Master Kim and his entire staff are extremely well educated in this profession and are well skilled in teaching young children to be the best they can be. We are so lucky to have such a great master and his facility so close to home.

I love this dojang and the community it creates. My family has found a second home here....I don’t share the sentiments of the previous poster. Covid was difficult, uncertain and the Masters went above and beyond to cater to all of the different needs and desires of parents faster than most places. My daughter’s dance studio didn’t come close to the flexibility and care provided by the Masters. On-line logins changed because of Zoom policies not the Masters. They have in person social distance classes, remote virtual classes, videos, private lessons. I have never seen a business do so much and go out of its way to ensure not just safety but options for families based on differing tolerance levels related to Covid.

Aside from Covid...Families are encouraged to participate together and the principles taught apply to adult and kids alike. Kids learn not just the art of TKD but how to be good human beings, how to listen, how to be disciplined and respectful. Adults learn side by side and there are additional kickboxing fitness classes for adults at a fraction of the price of other local boxing/kickboxing clubs but with no less intensity or fun. I know because I used to be a member of one of the other clubs.

Many different options for learning weapons, self defense, and getting fit. My family is not just learning TKD we are learning lessons of fitness and respect for oneself and others...life long lessons. We also learn about Korean culture and some of the deeper meaning behind the sword, Poomsae, and other aspects of training. Grand Master Kim and his family have changed my son’s and my life for the better.

I have a 8 year old daughter who recently attended this dojang and I want to share my thoughts regarding my experience. First of all she is very shy and when I took her for the first time to the dojang, she didn't want to participate. She had somewhat fear of unkown and for eight year old, this was a big moment for her, stepping out of her boundary and learning a skill. This is when Master Kim intervened in a gentle and positive manner explaining to my daughter how it's important to build up confidence and by overcoming this issue, she can move to a bigger and better things. To be honest, I didn't think an eight year old will get this but to my surprise she understood. I was impressed how he kneeled down to her eye level and talking to her in a very empathic and gentle manner and next thing you know she was on the mat kicking and punching. Now she loves going to dojang and looks forward to learning the art of Tae Kwon Do. Most importantly she learned a life's lession to be confident and face her fears.

Also the instructors are very keen to what each student needs and emphasize postive re-enforcement which builds up their confidence. They have such a vibrant energy and I like they have at least 4 instructors in a class to watch over students. Also they separate the students to their skills levels and I do like their personal attention to each students. They also have some weapons and self defense classes which I plan to enroll my daughter in near future.

Overall I am very satisfied so far, and apprecaite Master Kim's patience and understanding toward each individual students.
