My experience with these guys is another story, they are racist, biased, and hypocritical. They want people to respect everyone’s ideas and beliefs except the ones that don’t align with the status quo. I am being discriminated against for my beliefs and my questions to increase my cultural competence. Bias and racism comes in all shades. And these guys perpetuate it in their training and allow against individuals that don’t agree with them 😭😡😡

I really adore this counseling center. I admire the therapists they train and the supervisors that educate and support. I am currently seeing a wonderful therapist, Lou, at this counseling center and I just adore him. The amount of compassion and insight he brings to our sessions together is so appreciated. This sliding scale practice has been my saving grace. The wait is worth it and if you're willing to do the work, they will absolutely help you reach a place of mental wellness that best serves you.

I can see this place being very helpful for a lot of people. And also not being the right place for some others with certain diagnoses.

The front desk was very pleasant and always welcoming.

My therapist was so sweet and caring. She also asked the right questions that gave me a lot of insight. At a very low point in my life she was the only person I trusted.

I give this place a 3 star rating because my therapist had finished her time there the next week after I told her my newly learned diagnoses. I had been asking for months about certain type of therapy which I never got. The clinical supervisors failed to provide me with any recommendation, information, support, resources, nothing. When I mentioned that I just didn’t want to go to therapy anymore they asked me to sing some papers and on my way I went.

PHD student helped me a few years ago and highly recommend. It was sliding scale and I had to go on a waitlist but was in after 2 months. Worth the wait.

This experience was awful. My dad just recently died and this guy that was doing the intake was unfeeling and unprofessional. He didn't even say sorry for your loss or anything when I told him my dad died. He then asked a bizarre and insulting question. I wasn't even told that the place was run by unlicensed students with licensed professional "observing" till after I paid the assessment fee. They said I would get my money back and I never did. The front desk lady offered a transgender group when I asked about a grief support group. Made no sense. Very strange and bizarre people.

I feel like I wasted my time coming to this place for couseling services. I was basically charged $20 to talk to two interns who gave me an "intake" session, only to be told I was being put on an 18 Week Waiting list to then pay $16 per session if I was lucky enough to be paired with another intern who was only there to get accredited hours needed for school. Thank god im an on the higher functioning spectum and was only looking for maintenance therapy and nothing dire or life threatening. I walked away feeling cheated and unfulfilled and really hesitant if and when I were to see a "therapist" from their center if it would even be worth the effort on going to this place at all

In this place I found the professional support I needed on one of the most difficult time of my life. I am so grateful that there is place like this that helps people with mental health. As part of the latino community I understand the importance of having therapy as tool to deal with hard times and wrong behaviors. My therapist guieded me to this journey to find the real person I meant be, and helped me to understand myself, forgive myself and love myself as the human being I am. Thank you SCCC!
