I have known Luke Phillip for many years, over which we worked together in different settings, received professional clinical trainings together, and are still crossing paths with each other and collaborating to provide best therapy services to members in our communities. Luke has long been standing out to me as a competent and enthusiastic peer therapist who brings the best services to anyone he encounters in his professional work!

My husband and I started seeing Luke Philippi a few months ago and things were going mostly well until we found out some devastating news that shook our family to the core. My husband had a commitment during one of our sessions so we agreed that I would go by myself to inform Luke of what had happened. The following week I had covid so I sent an email requesting that we do a telehealth session because we were having issues that we really needed to discuss and I didn't think that missing a session would be good for us at all. Luke completely ignored my email and didn't respond. Then he met with my husband alone and decided to spend the last few minutes of their session sending me an email about their session and about our resentments towards each other (with no knowledge that my husband had been calling me horrible names which is a huge trauma trigger for me) and telling me that we need to be kind to each other. He could have just as easily called me and discussed my feelings in that last few minutes to get my perspective, which was why I requested a telehealth session that was desperately needed to avoid us further damaging each other. I responded with an email stating that I was no longer willing to participate in marriage counseling because it very clearly wasn't working and I didn't have the opportunity to defend myself before he reprimanded me. When I went in for our exit session, Luke told me that I was abandoning my family the way I was abandoned. Then my husband started seeing him on his own and the two of them diagnosed me with narcissism and borderline personality disorder (again without me being present and without any kind of formal evaluation). I find it incredibly inappropriate for my husband to come at me after a session where I'm not present asking if I've ever considered that I have BPD (which I do! I was diagnosed over 2 years ago. Luke would have known that instead of just "guessing" and getting my husband all worked up and thinking that my husband is qualified to participate in a diagnoses if he had read my intake paperwork where I clearly stated that that was part of my diagnoses). He is no longer my therapist and is telling my husband that he should divorce me, therefore, I don't find it at all appropriate for him to be participating in doing more damage to me by "speculating" with my husband that I have a diagnoses instead of knowing my actual diagnoses and explaining to my husband the cause of BPD and how that plays a role in trauma responses and reactions to the hard stuff in life. You have my number Luke, please call me if you wish to discuss me with myself instead of my husband.

Luke Philippi is not a good therapist. Extremely pushy and more concerned with his own needs than the client's.
